The witty and sometimes rambling adventures of a paper addict who spends too much time playing with paper...

I have been looking for new techniques all over the web these days and last week I found the perfect tutorial on how to make spiral flowers. I had seen some of these on LO's recently and I couldn't wait to find out how to make my own! The video is here on You Tube: Spiral Flower Video.
There are many more videos and how-to's on the web showing you how to make these but this was the most helpful tutorial for me to follow and really understand the process.
Last night I made a LO with these spiral flowers. I cut the circles out with my cricut and then rolled up the spirals I had cut out. I did let them spring back out a little to make a more relaxed flower before I glued them to the bottom of the spiral. Here is the LO and some close-ups of the flowers:
Another technique that I have been intrigued by is punching out a shape and lifting the LO above another piece of cardstock to create a recessed area to hold embellishments. I chose to do that in this LO also and I am very pleased with the results. It is hard to show in a picture, but it makes the embellishments stand out just a little bit more. This LO was made using part of my March kit from The Scrap Room and a sketch challenge posted there.
Any new techniques that you are interested in and hoping to give a try?
